I would say this is an extremely important feature as several buyers will not order products if they are forced to create a Paypal account. It is true that Paypal does not require a signup so buyers should have that option in CoffeeCup scc.
It seems that this should be somewhat of a priority considering that without it, Paypal signups are forced will reduce or eliminate sales all together for your customers.

Hi, i own a tech support company, so i get to talk with many customers about various things. No matter what paypal release as their information, my experience shows (Especially with older people) that you experience a loss of sales by not being able to provide the express checkout. There is a large group of the population that are not savvy on the internet, and it is hard enough to get them to pay by credit card let alone get them to open an account with a company that they have never heard of and don't know exactly where there office is.
When i purchased the standard shopping cart, I purchased it thinking that "It's ok if it doesn't have all the functions, Coffee Cup are pretty good with there updating, they will have a lot more functions and fixes over the next couple of months and everything will be good.
Since buying the cart, over time it becomes more and more obvious that there are some severe limitations in the carts use. It is currently only good for a basic cart that you can purchase single items, with no extras that are charged for (the cart does not even provide for me to charge for something added on to a product through the options fields).
I have only just now ready about the pro version your working on......and i must say Coffee Cup......i am quite RESENTFUL of the fact that you are working on a pro version already for which i will get charged more money, when you haven't even perfected the basic shopping cart that you have released already.
I always have praise for your software Mr Coffee Cup, but you have fallen down sadly with this shopping cart. It should still be in BETA stage. I can not recommend this software to any of my customers whilst it is so limiting and buggy. PLEASE listen to what your customers are telling you in the posts above and throughout the forums. After all the best rule in business is "Look after your customers, and your business will look after itself in return."

We have made no official statement that says we will charge you more money for this program. The program is still under development. However if we do charge, we have always given existing users a very nice upgrade price. When Shopping Cart Creator was released, we gave existing users the option to buy it for $29 instead of $49. Development of programs has to be paid for somehow right? The software itself is not "buggy" it simply just does not have a feature that you personally want (PayPal Express).
The great thing about Shopping Cart Creator and any of our programs is we offer a fully functional trial version that you can test before you buy. This ensures that the program works for you as intended.

Ok...question...and I think that I've seen the answer here but it seems to be lost in verbiage and minutiae.....Does this shopping cart do 2 things. Does the shopping cart support the Paypal Pro web API? Does the shopping cart support any import features from say a .CSV file whatsoever.
I will install the trial if those two questions can be definitely answered. If not I need to look elsewhere immediately. Thanks!

I read through the shopping cart forum every day and it seems as though a lot of people are asking for Paypal Express which does not require a customer to sign up for an account before their purchase. I don't know the size of the companies these people represent, but for any full time retailer(not a hobbyist selling the fruits of their hobby) having the customer sign up for a paypal account (if they don't already have an account, which most frequent online shoppers do) is a must.
What everyone is missing here is the fact that if Paypal doesn't verify a customers address, which from what I understand they don't with express, you open yourself up to fraud and lost money and product. The only way Paypal guarantees your money is if they VERIFY the address of your customer. This is very important , and something I would not do without. Trust me, losing one or two sales because someone doesn't want to have a paypal account, is minor compared to losing hundreds of dollars due to CC fraud.
There is no reason whatsoever for someone to not want to create an account. It doesn't take one second longer to create an account versus using express. Either way they have to enter ALL their details. Including: name, address, CC number, and email address. The one thing creating an account does do is take care of you, the retailer(or hobbyist). There have been some sales through paypal I canceled and returned money because the address wasn't verified.
Everyone has to make up their own mind how much risk they are willing to take with their money and product(remember, once you send it, it doesn't come back). Just make sure you educate yourself about the process's involved with internet sales and receiving money from your online customers before you make that decision.

Thank you for that update Craig...appreciate it. My choice to use the PayPal Pro Web API enables me to accept credit cards without the customer to have a PayPal account. This is most important...95% (almost accurate) of the customers out there that do NOT have a paypal account do not want to sign up for one. Contrary to popular belief, based on my own and other's studies, these people do not want to spend the time signing up for yet another service. They could care less and they let Visa, Amex and MC do their fraud haggling for them. I just want to be able to do what I want.
Thanks for the info. and I guess I need to look elsewhere. Have a great weekend everybody!!

Just remember, that's 95% of 15% of the internet buyers that don't have a Paypal account. 85% of the shoppers already have an account with them.

Hi,
Well I must admire Scotts patience in handling this thread. I don't know how long it's taken to type but it's taken me one hour to read.
Just when I thought it was going round in circles and about to give up,
up pops Craig to put the whole thing into perspective.
If his figures are correct, then it makes perfect sense.
In fact given the option I would prefer this method.
Baz.

LOL,
There was an article about popular ways to except payment for purchases on a web store that I read in one of my trade magazines a couple of months ago. The figures came from that article.
