Help with Shopping Cart Please - Post...
Hello I am trying to publish my shopping cart as my homepage but when I use the publish method in Shopping Cart it hangs half way through. So i am using Coffee Cup FTP. I use the "export the shop" and that works fine, it creates a folder with all my files in it called "For_The_Friends.com-server" when I put the folder in my WWW directory on Netfrims server and then try open my website by going to www.forthefriends.com it shows nothing, so in the Netfirms FAQ section it says the home file needs to be renamed to index.htm and put into the www folder. The only "Home" file I see is located in ccsdata/templates but it is in .xml format. So renamed it index.htm and put it into the www folder on Netfrims and rerun my page in internet explorer and all I get is html code and missing pictures(see attached). I have also tried renaming the "For_The_Friends.com-server" folder to "forthefriends.com" but still just mumbled html.
Also I have ensured:
1)Netfrims is using PHP 4.4.7 or higher
2) cURL 4.3 extensions are enabled.
Help! What am I doing wrong?

Hi Wen Al, the file that you are looking for is the index.php. This is the what will display the Shop Home page. Redo your .xml file to what it was.
If you are not using a regular website with your Shopping Cart, then make sure the files that were in the "For_The_Friends.com-server" are in the root of your host.

No, don't change index.php to index.htm. The cart will not work.
When you selected the "Export Shop for Upload", a folder was created as you described (For_The_Friends.com-server").
If you have no other webpages for your website, then you can use the Shopping Cart as your website. This is because you can only have one index.html or index.php on the root. This way, if someone types just your URL, the server looks for an index.html or index.php.
You should upload all of the files in that server folder to the root, but not the server folder. In other words, empty the folder to your root.
It should look something like this on your root:
folder: "ccdata"
folder: "css"
folder: "images"
folder: "js"
body_bg.jpg
cart.php
and so on including index.php which starts all of the action.
If you had regular web pages (home page, contact page, about us page, etc.) then you would need to have a folder for the shopping cart and a link from your web pages to your cart.

Well you got me thinking. So i created a website using dreamweaver and it's on the netfirms server root of www.(1st 72 hours it will show at www.forthefriends.netfirms.com) I have a cart I created through Coffecup that I want linked from the main site. So i created a folder right below the www called shop and uploaded the coffecup cart files to it, I then put the files in the shop folder but couldnt link to it. What did I do wrong? I also tryed to rename it to index.html from index.php but no difference. Thanks in advance again for any and all help.

If I click on your shop link in your website I go to your shop. But once in the shop if I click on the link home it does not go back to your main website. Now this is what you need to do.
Open your shop again in shopping cart.
Go to the button on the top with the shoping cart, screw driver etc image where it says Your shop and click it open.
Where it says website: put in your link forthefriends.netfirms.com
Then upload your shop again.
Now when you are in your shop and click on the button home it should take you to your main website.
Hope this helps.
