If you have 6000 items then this is not for you. This is for guy's like me who only want a simple shop and not sell the same thing twice.

I will determine what's right for me thank you. I have no intention of putting all 6000 sku's online, I just used that number to make a point. I have full intention of upgrading to the pro version once it's released.
As far as what you guys are asking for, it will probably be implemented in the future, but right now they have their hands full with taxes, shipping, and the styler module. If it's something you can't wait on, you need to look elsewhere. It seems as if no one takes advantage of the fully operational trial period. Take the time to take it for a ride and make sure it's going to do what you want before you buy. They will be upgrading and tweaking regularly just like their other programs. Be patient, these things take time, it will come.
Everyone needs to remember, this is $49 software. I spent twice that on my toothbrush!

After reading all these posts now I am confused. I will make it simple. Will this software show a zero balance in quantity if the item is sold? I thought the quantity was for the buyer's use in the shopping cart.
I thank you for answering this.

Simply....No
Setting the quantity just tells the cart how many of an item you allow a buyer to put in the cart at one time. It does nothing to stop an item from being sold.
As soon as you get the email telling you one of your one of a kind items has sold, you will want to immediately update your site so that it is no longer listed for sale. Otherwise you may end up having several people trying to buy the same item.

I will keep coming back to see if the standard system has a rudimentry inventry as it is so easy to use. In the mean time I am using a combination of my own web pages and a bit of php to determine if an item is sold.
So even though my shop is just as effective it is more labour intensive to create the pages thus I am hoping I will be informed when inventry of one can be achieved. At least I am able to give my customers a choice of payment methods.
I will not give out my method as I respect Coffee Cup to much or advertise my site for the same reason.
