Shopping Cart Best Checkout Options -...

I can't seem to find this anywhere so thought I'd ask. There are, if I understand, two options for setting up checkout and getting paid: PayPal and Google. I'm currently using PayPal (which is working fine) but was wondering if it is possible to also offer the Google option to a customer too. That is, have both Google and PayPal appear on the checkout cart page. Usually it's best to offer customers all the options they can eat without getting confused.

Also, is there any advantage of one payment option over the other?

There's actually a third option (Authorize.net) and it and Google checkout require an add-on module.

BUT!!! FWIW, I would say that with PayPal and Google you're on the right path. According to some statistics... Don't really know where right now... About 85% of all on-line shoppers use either PP or G. So you should be covered. Personally, I'm a little leary about doing business with either businesses that don't take PP or G or people who are willing to give CC#'s directly (not through PP or G)... Just seems a little wrong to me.

I looked into Authorize.net and it seems pretty expensive to me. There are a lot of providers for it so maybe there is a less expensive one out there. But if PayPal and google checkout(for which you need to buy a separate module)work for you I would stick with those two. I've actually had more sales with google than paypal.

I actually have both PayPal and Google modules, but so far only have PayPal on my checkout. Does CC Shopping Cart allow you to include BOTH PayPal and Google on your cart checkout so that customers can pick whatever they are comfortable with using to pay? In other words, if I add Google to my existing PayPal enabled cart setup, will they both play together well, or will it screw things up?

Yes it will allow both (actually all three) at the same time. Then the customer can choose which method they prefer to use to pay for their order.:D

Thanks Phil, I'll add Google to my cart. Of course if everything falls apart on me, I'm coming over to steal your fish!
