Shopping Cart Restricts Paypal...

Hello ...

I emailed support some questions a day or two ago, and haven't heard back? That's why I'm reading forums.

I really want to buy the software, but am concerned about this paypal issue also. I have had customers back out of a sale for this reason ... just like the first couple post said they 'drop off' - they don't want a paypal account. They do call me direct to take credit card info. I believe It is a valid complaint. I hope there's a fix soon. However, Google will probably work just fine.

I may have gotten answers to my questions already by reading the forums, but still would hope someone will respond to me soon.

Thanks,
Michelle

Hi

I just checked your account and under this name you have only e-mailed us twice Topic #100200 and Topic # 91755 Both were replied to last month. If you e-mailed us directly, we would not get the message as all support questions must go through our Website at http://www.coffeecup.com/help

As to your PayPal comment, that is just how our system works. This is not a bug, this is how it is designed. Please read http://www.coffeecup.com/help/articles/ … -purchase/

I too find the need for the user to get a Paypal account a complete show stopper, and I wouldn't have bought this program if I had known this in advance.

'Coffee Cup ship a trial version' : yes, but my trial got me as far as creating a test page and uploading it.
The Paypal part didnt work because my web provider didnt have the right PHP code.
(I had to upgrade the hosting to get that)

'You can use Google payments too'
No, I cant actually.

I got a 'buy now or the price goes up' email, so I bought.
It turns out that the special price only bought a version that handles Paypal, not Paypal and Google.

So now my shopping cart is ready to roll, but must sit unused in a box in the hope that Coffee Cup find a solution to this.

I know for a fact that faced with creating a Paypal account to make a credit card payment, I will lose business. People will just cancel the transaction on the spot, and the sale will be lost.

'This is just how our application works. At this time there are no plans to change this process.'

Please: make some plans. I cant use the software I bought as it stands.

Thanks

Hi Mike

Right now merchant accounts are not supported. However we are about to release authorize.net as an option.

I can't imagine how frustrated Scott and the rest of the support team must be, I am and I don't have anything to do with creating or supporting CC software. For the price you cannot beat this software. All the PayPal arguments are baseless as far as I'm concerned. If you don't want to use PayPal buy the Google addin. It's only a couple of dollars more and will take care of your "customers will drop off at PayPal" argument. PayPal and Google have so many people already signed up with accounts, CC would have been stupid not to start with them. I'm sure that other ways to pay will come, but not publishing your site until it gets here is just cutting off your nose to spite your face. You really are losing sales going that route. I am in total agreement with some others here that don't want this software targeted to more advance users. This software is meant for people who know nothing(or very little)about coding. Maybe they will come out with an advanced user version, but let's keep this one really simple to use.

OK so at this time you still have not updated to the new release 3.1? Just want to check before I purchase. I do not want my customers to have to have a paypal acct. to buy from my site.

Also, I already have my products uploaded with full info. - will this be a problem when installing my cart if I do in fact buy coffee cup shopping cart?

Version 3.1 will not have any changes in the way PayPal functions with our software. How it works in 3.0 is the exact same way it will work in 3.1

If you have a cart created in 3.0, all you need to do is open and re-save in 3.1

There is no problem with PayPal, that is how it works with our software. ;)

If you have products setup with another non CoffeeCup application, you will need to manually enter them into our software.
