Right now the API information is a global setting, so for each cart you work on you would have to re-enter in the API data for that customer. This is something we will be changing either in an upcoming release or the pro version.

I'll ask again, the question posted above. Do you know about when this release will come?

Question..... Am I understanding you correctly?
It appears above that you are saying that we have to use a Paypal Express Checkout Account, and that we cannot use a Paypal Website Standards Account for using the Shopping Cart program. I hope that I misunderstand you on this. Please clarify. When I click on Submit, I'm getting an Error message, and this may be the problem because I have created a Website Standards Account.

I don't think I understand this issue about having to create a Paypal account to complete the purchase. When I did a test transaction with paypal all I had to do was enter my name address and CC# . Wouldn't you need that information anyway to know who and where to ship the product to? It was very easy, and took about 2 minutes. No matter where the payment is made you are going to have to collect that information.

Craig...
the issue is whether the buyer must be a paypal member in order to purchase from the store you set up
normally, with the proper paypal settings/account the seller can allow a user NOT to be a paypal member, but just enter cc info, etc.
from what i'm reading in the forum, the coffee cup software only takes the buyer to the paypal-must-be-a-member page, so they must first sign up for paypal and then use that paypal account to pay the seller.
this is an issue.
anyone know when it will -- or has it already -- been fixed?
PS...anyone using the Google check out option? we are thinking of going that direction

So far, I keep hearing a lot of pushoff on this product from CoffeeCup. I'm appalled at the customer service approach. Point fingers at PayPal, point fingers at the customer, but don't even consider taking a point of action to fix apparent issues that signify a beta release, rather than a final release.
Regardless of the fact that you meet the proper requirements for your host server and perhaps can get the PayPal function to work (which I still don't have any useful answer from anyone on), I keep hearing that this shopping cart is lacking the ability to produce a valid delivery address (although I haven't had to experience this, as I provide services, not products), and also lacks the ability to allow customers to pay without a PayPal account.
These are unacceptable limitations and should be expressly noted on this site before charging for the Shopping Cart Creator. If they are indeed being addressed, then please note a designated release date for the fix(es).
Thank you.

This is why we offer a fully functional trial version that you can test before you buy. We do this for just the exact reasons you mentioned here. We document everything clearly on our Website and in our manual for the server requirements as well.
We have no control over your hosting platform. If it does not meet the minimum requirements that we document, there is nothing else we can do. We provide a very complete step by step list of that you need to make the software work. The ownership of making sure you are compatible falls on the customers shoulders, not ours.
We definitely will help debug any issues with the software, but items outside of our control have to fall on the users responsibility.

I am not sure what "valid delivery address" is. As to needing a PayPal account, more information on that is at http://www.coffeecup.com/help/articles/ … -purchase/
This is just how our application works. At this time there are no plans to change this process.

...and, so how is it that I can get ZenCart, OSCommerce, CubeCart, Activa, Miva and many others to work just fine? It's ok to stand by your product, but it should do as advertised.
Have something to add? We’d love to hear it!
