I have a site http://www.a1coffee.co.uk which Google.co.uk has mapped and shows 900 plus pages of results. Sitemapper can only find 19 single pages and these are just the top level pages - index page, category pages and general info pages, but none of the products.
Clearly if Google and other search engines are finding these, why is sitemapper not?

Have you tried running the program again. If you have, and you keep getting the same results, then I would put a support ticket it to make sure you don't have a bad program.

I have run it a couple of times. The status bar says that sitemapping is complete, but also says there are 195 URLs in the queue!
It looks like a lot of your content is dynamically driven. I see lots of urls like http://www.a1coffee.co.uk/index.php?app … h49wf3hw63
Typically that can cause a lot of issues, not only with our software, but with search engines in general.

Yes, in general you want file names that are simple like "index.html/products". The reason is because it causes problems when the site is crawled. Even though, Google identified a larger amount of file names, it does not entail that those names will be searchable on Google. Per Scott, if you cleaned up your links the sitemap program should crawl better.

In theory Google's bots can now even crawl Flash nav menus--but I wouldn't count on it.

Hi Scott,
I'm not sure how you are seeing that as the site returns urls like this
http://www.a1coffee.co.uk/gbu0-prodshow … LUE01.html
and that is exactly how Google sees it. It is worth doing a site search in Google to see the listing e.g. site:a1coffee.co.uk
This lists a few hundred pages of results and all of them in an easily readable format.

I am doing a view source on your page and looking at the links there. This is what our software follows. Typically links like that can cause all sorts of issues and not necessarily that good of an idea.

Yes, and it is a wonderful theory.

The URLs are re-written using using rules is the .htaccess file. I have used other software that maps the site well, so I guess CoffeeCup sitemapper is no good for my site or any other shops created with Kryptronic. I'll get an account with xml-sitemaps . com as I know this works on all sites.
Thanks
