From that it seems as though it is not possible to create an external style sheet and use that to set header styles in VSD.

The idea of having to go through the entire site to change things like header/text styles is a killer for time as well as a recipe for missing stuff that needs changing.

This would not be a problem for a relatively small unchanging site, but for a site with growing content I can see it would be difficult to keep style consistent if anyone using VSD has to use inline styles for any content they add rather than having fixed styles for H1, H2, H3, H4 body, captions etc (especially with multiple authors wanting to add content).

Does anyone know if there is a workaround to use a style sheet with VSD?

If not, are there any plans to update VSD to work with style-sheets in the (near) future?

You can code as many aspects of your VSD site as you need to. Use an HTML box and add the needed code. Check out the site in my signature for a bunch of custom stuff for users willing to dig deeper but still want to be able to breath.

So are you saying I can create an external stylesheet but would need to add a code snippet like:
<link href="stylesheet.css" rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" />
to each page in VSD?

If so, I don't see an option to apply a style to highlighted text from the style sheet in the properties box.

I have a lot of examples on my site that are using external style sheets to accomplish tasks. You would put your style sheet reference to the head of your page then add the actual sheet to your site with the "Add Files" tool. Then you would place a HTML box on your page with the proper div id's or class's to pick up the styling in the sheet.
