In switching from the Trial version of VSD to the Paid version, is there anything that I need to do before upgrading, to ensure that the work that I've done on a website that I am developing, is still fully accessible with the Paid version?

I would save your website that you've already worked on to a new location like a flash drive. It's good practice to backup your work anyway.

Also, although I never do (and have never had a problem), it's recommended that you remove the previous version and maybe even run CC Cleaner before running the installer on the new version.

Most of the programs these days from CC will ask you when you are installing if you want to unistall the old/trial versions or it will tell you that it's going to do so if it needs to. It is always recommended to uninstall trial versions. You don't always have to uninstall the programs if you are just updating a specific version, but trials are a different setup and removing them is always best to be sure that your restrictions and advertising etc. is removed.
